About Miss Rachel
“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.”
- Maria Montessori
My name is Rachel Walton and I am thrilled to be the owner of a movement, music and mindfulness focused preschool. My passion is to foster each child’s instinctual eagerness to learn through movement, music, and environmental exploration. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I am certified in teaching English as a second language and have taken several other child development and education courses throughout my career as a teacher. I have taught three years of first grade and seven years of Kindergarten in both the Provo and Alpine School Districts. I am a mother to three beautiful children. In my free time, I love to bike, play the guitar, paddleboard, hike, camp, read, and play games with my family. I am also a singer and songwriter and have composed several songs that I’ve used to teach my students over the years. I am a Certified Life Coach and have a strong belief in teaching children, at a young age, how to understand and navigate their emotions, problem solve, and find empowerment through building individual autonomy.
